It’s that time of year again, where the weather begins to cool and we board flights back home to visit the family for Thanksgiving week. Thanksgiving gives us a few days to relax and unwind with family over a nice dinner, drinks, and the occasional two-hand touch game in the front yard. For such a leisurely week ahead, packing is a lot more stressful than you’d think! Luckily, it doesn’t have to be that way. Try this easy Thanksgiving packing list from Covergirl Shapewear.
First things first, you’ll need to know what kind of luggage you’re dealing with before you can pack! We recommend traveling light to avoid over-packing. If you can cut down and get all of your belongings to fit into one bag, you’ll save yourself a lot of time, money, and headaches down the road when it’s time to choose an outfit.
In order to do this, we recommend dividing your Thanksgiving packing list into two (2) categories: What you’re packing and what you’re wearing on the plane. To make things as easy as possible, we recommend wearing your bulkier items on the plane to save some luggage room. So keep your jacket or coat on you.
If you’re going to limit yourself to one bag, it’s important to choose your outfits wisely. We recommend no more than 10 items. This means those 10 items should be easily mixed and matched. Queue the capsule wardrobe…
A capsule wardrobe is essentially a wardrobe that consists of basic items that you can easily mix and match to dress up or to dress down. Consider a handful of items that you will bring that all go together in some way.
Consider these items:
• 5 tops
• 2 bottoms
• 2 pairs of shoes (flats and boots)
• 1 sweater
• 1 coat
• Underwear and a bra
• Your favorite CoverGirl shapewear
You can choose to wear the heavier items and bring the rest on the plane in your luggage. We recommend wearing boots, a coat, and a pair of jeans to leave room for the less-bulky clothing in your luggage.
You should plan on bringing one outfit that allows you to dress up for Thanksgiving dinner or any other special occasions like going to church or going out. Likewise, you should bring an outfit that is comfortable and casual (like leggings) for when the plan is to lounge around and sip on warm beverages.
If you keep your Thanksgiving packing list short and versitile you will have no problem traveling and packing with minimal headaches from start to finish.
