Having a healthy body image is the key to daily confidence and lifelong happiness. Our bodies listen to the way we talk and think about ourselves, and when we constantly “feed” our bodies negative ideas, it can take a toll on a health physically, mentally, and emotionally. Practicing self-love is what makes all the difference in the way we do and think everyday we wake up in the morning. The more we love ourselves, the more we can offer to our overall health and goals in life. Check out these six ways you can appreciate your body with self-love and care.
It’s important to remember that at the end of the day, we are all human beings. We were all created with flaws and weaknesses, or else we’d be robots right? Start off your journey to self-love with accepting yourself with who you are. There’s no better way to live life when you stay true to who are.
Take the time to listen to your body and how it responds to certain things. How do you feel after exercising? How do you feel after eating something unhealthy? Does something this particular thing help me achieve my goals? Take note on the things that make you feel good from the inside out and what does not. Do the things that make you happy and remember, everything in life requires balance and consistency.
One of the worst things to do to your body is compare it to others. Everybody is born different in every way and we are unique in our own different ways. When we compare ourselves to others, it steals your joy and can distract you from your goals. Instead, accept yourself in this moment in time regardless of your “flaws” and focus on what makes you happy.
Practicing positive self-talk is another great way to love your body. Start off the day with this practice because it can set the tone for your entire day ahead! Everybody has their own methods of self-affirmation, so don’t be afraid to get creative and have fun with it.
When you feel beautiful on the inside, you feel beautiful on the outside and vice versa. From applying your favorite shade of lipstick, wearing something cute or even taking the time to workout, can allow ourselves to feel confident. And when we feel beautiful, we are bound to do amazing things.
When you have a specific goal you want to achieve, strive for progress rather than perfection. Just like tip #1 states, we aren’t born to be perfect. What would be the fun in life if we were?
